While Spider-Man is lost in the Multiverse, Sony has already chosen its Spider-Woman for the Madame Web movie
While Spider-Man finds himself pretty much lost in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of No Way Home, Sony continues to develop his own Spider-Verse with several movies on the way. One of , apart themfrom the already announced Venom 3, is Madame Web, Spider-Man's helper and friend who also has spider powers.
With Dakota Johnson starring in the film, it seems that her casting has just added another girl with spider-powers to its ranks: Sydney Sweeney will be Spider-Woman in the next movie in the Spider-Man universe.
Sweeney rose to worldwide fame relatively recently with her role in Euphoria, and now, instead of going through teenage trouble, she will have to save the world from the most diabolical villains.
This information is brought to you by Jeff Sneider, a renowned industry journalist who has already talked about the Marvel Studios prototype to find Sue Storm, through his weekly podcast The Hot Mic. These leaks are obviously not confirmed by Sony, but it also gives weight to previous leaks that pointed to the same actress for the role.
Of course, it seems that there will be more than one Spider-Woman in the film, since Sydney Sweeney will play Julia Carpenter, the second version of this superheroine. Supposedly, the actress Olivia Wilde had been chosen to play Jessica Drew, the first Spider-Woman who had been waiting for her own movie for several years and about which we still don't know anything.
