BRUCE STRALEY LEAVES NAUGHTY DOG

The co-director of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Bruce Straley has announced his departure from Naughty Dog.


In a post on the official site of the study, the author wrote that "it has been the most difficult decision of my career" and that he is not going to announce what his next steps will be. However, it did say that it intends to "continue in this industry".

He started working at the company in 1999 as a textures artist at Crash Team Racing being the 15th employee of the company.

"From day one, I knew I was surrounded by some of the most talented and passionate people in the industry. They were pushing to do things beyond what anyone thought were possible, something that got into me and I loved it" , I continue.

Following the artist's work on the Jak and Daxter series, he worked on the Uncharted saga since his first installment on PS3 in 2007. He may be best known for co-directing The Last of Us and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End with Neil Druckman - who will also be in charge of the sequel.

Straley thanked his creative partners, including Amy Hennig and the aforementioned, as well as the company's founders - Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin - and former co-chairman Christophe Balestra, who also left Naughty Dog earlier this year.

"And a sincere thank-you to the fans. Knowing that I was part of creating something that touched or moved them somehow made it all worthwhile - and now, I'm also going to be excited about Naughty Dog's next masterpieces" .
