Dragon Ball: Is there a White Super Saiyan? We explain

Old fan theories of the franchise ensure that the "Super Saiyan White" is the true final form.

Today, in "topics you did not know you needed" we will talk about a theory born in the Dragon Ball fandom and that came in 2015, after the premiere of "Dragon Ball Z: The Resurrection of Frieza" and its subsequent adaptation to anime, which it was released in Japan in July of that year. According to CBR, there was a belief that a transformation called Super Saiyan White would be the final form of the entire series of Goku and Vegeta transformations in which their hair would be painted a brilliant white, as they gained a cosmic aura, which made their increased power evident.

In Dragon Ball Super the protagonists were shown on a divine level, with which the Super Saiyan God - bright red hair - was born, as well as its improved form, the Super Saiyan Blue, which took this name due to the color of the users turns blue. Goku and Vegeta attained this power due to the combination of divine ki and their strength as a saiyan.

According to CBR, the Super Saiyan White would be the final form of this series of divine transformations, allowing its users to reach the levels of the Angels that accompany the gods of destruction, the most powerful beings in the world of Dragon Ball today. These beings, like Whis, are much stronger than their Hakai-Shin and can use their subconscious to face combat, allowing their bodies to move instinctively, dodge blows, and with sufficient capacity to respond to devastating attacks.

Yes, at the end of Super we knew this as Ultra Instinct, which has many similarities to what would be the SSJ White; but one of the great differences was that the supposed final form of the protagonist would allow users to feel the intentions of those around him; Furthermore, the Ultra Instinct looks like it would allow Goku to have an even match against Bills or one of his colleagues, but it doesn't seem like it's still enough to rival Whis or the other Angels.

We don't know yet if there will be transformations beyond the Ultra Instinct, but knowing Goku, who always has to overcome his limits, this level may soon fall short and a new form will come. Will it be the Super Saiyan White? Probably not, but as an anecdote it is there, next to the non-existent Super Saiyan Green.
